Bear Brand Textured stockings have a Reinforced Heel and Toe, with a plain-knit welt and no underwelt/afterwelt. The rest of the stockings are knit in in Bri-Nylon in the same texture/pattern throughout. A seam extends full length under the foot from heel to toe.
The pattern/textured nature of these stockings means that they have a small degree of stretch, hence the sizes being limited to half-size ranges. There are two pack styles, those that include the letter 'B' in the Ho-hose stock reference are in the green 'Conifer' pack, and are designated, by the manufacturer as being Small or Average (Medium), equivalent to 8½-9, and 9½-10, respectively. Those stockings which are in the pack that features an image of a lady are designated 8½-9, 9½-10, and 10½-11. The contents of both packs are identical, and each pack that we have opened carries white lettering on the stocking-top (welt) of one leg in the pair, which reads:
'REGD. DES. NO. 917979'
The pattern on the front of the green pack gives an indication of the style of the Conifer pattern, whilst the colours scans illustrate the pattern of the contents by means of a small circular zone in the scan.
Not unexpectedly, the denier for these stockings is not given. The texture of the fabric is comparatively quite thick, which makes these stockings ideal for those colder days and cooler nights.
