Vintage ultra sheer Fully Fashioned nylon stockings by Delamare. Although not visible in our scans, left, these classic nylons have quite a short welt (i.e. stocking-top) which measures 85 mm, but the under/afterwelt is much more deep than usual at 45mm. The under/afterwelt features an 8mm deep central band of contrasting Picot stitching, for additional allure.
The heel tapers beautifully to a point (see the scans), and the stockings are knit in a very open Non-Run mesh. Although the denier is not specified by the British manufacturer, we feel that - unusually for this type of stocking - they have been knit in ultra-sheer 15 denier yarn. The exceptional sheerness of the nylons is evident from our scans.
