Delightfully sheer plain knit British-made vintage nylon stockings by Empress, which they have called 'Gay Abandon'. This name, presumably, alludes the fact that the manufacturer claims that these are

The maker does not identify the colour, the denier or the gauge, but the size is indicated. There is a leg length scale printed on the reverse of the pack, but due to deformation of the pack, it is not possible to determine the leg length. The pale shade we have called 'Peach Blush', and it is our opinion that these lovely stockings are knit in durable yet sheer 20 denier nylons, probably to 60 gauge. The sheerness is clearly evident in our scans.
As can be seen in the scan, these delicate wisps of nylon feature a narrow, extended Cuban heel.
These lovely nylons are still their original cellophane package, which is quite wrinkled, as is often the case with cellophane that is over 40 years old - reflections from the wrinkles cause the light-coloured 'flashes' in our scans. We cannot see any signs of discolouration in the stockings.
