The British manufacturer (Barber and Nicholls Ltd.) is silent as to the denier of the yarn used to knit these stockings, but almost without exception, runproof nylons are knit using a 20 denier yarn, and our inspection does not suggest to us that these stockings vary from that norm. The stockings were knit on a machine carrying 401 needles. As can be seen in the scans, left, a seam extends full-length under the foot from heel to toe.
